Traditional Bavarian beer garden in Oberhaching. It can be reached easily by bicycle and is in a beautiful location. The Radler-Maß (Biker's Dram) was invented here on a hot Saturday in July 1922!!

Mangfall Bike Path
One of the loveliest bicycle tours in Southern Munich goes directly past our hotel. The bicycle path connects Munich with Rosenheim and leads from Feldkirchen-Westerham along the Mangfall River, which leads from Kolbermoor to Rosenheim. A visit to the Aying brewery, located about 10 kilometers into the route, is a must! Total Distance Stay2Munich – Rosenheim ca. 50 km.

Isar Raft Trip
The popular raft trips on the Isar from Wolfratshausen to Munich take place daily from May 1st through September. Depending on the water level, the 28 kilometer raft trip takes 5-7 hours. Complete Bavarian hospitality and fare is included in the 129 euro price. The raft launch point in Wolfratshausen is easily reached with S-Bahn line 7.

Tatzelwurmstraße
The Tatzelwurmstraße toll mountain road (car €2, motorbike €1.50) begins to the south of Brannenburg (509 metres above sea level). It leads southwards at a gradient of up to 18% over the Tatzelwurm pass through a narrow, single-lane tunnel controlled by traffic lights before which there is a small waterfall on the right-hand side. The road ends at a T-junction (764 m) near the Tatzelwurm waterfall, which is well worth a visit.

Achenpass
The pass is around 1 km north of the border with Austria in the Mangfallgebirge mountain range in southern Bavaria. It links Lake Tegernsee Valley in the north with the Achental Valley (Tyrol) in the south. At the top of the pass (941 metres above sea level) is Stuben, a district of Kreuth. South of the pass the Achental forks from Lake Achensee and leads to Lake Sylvensteinsee. A section of the pass is part of the German Alpine Highway.

Schweizer Hof stables
Every summer the Schweizer Hof stables in neighbouring Kirchstockach plays host to a major dressage and jumping competition. For horse lovers this is a perfect opportunity to experience equestrianism at close quarters. And the stables are well worth a visit even when there is not an event taking place. You can eat in the cosy Stüberl bar restaurant while watching the horses being put through their paces through the large window. Training and courses are only available to club members.

Riedhausen riding centre

The Riedhausen riding centre is situated just five kilometres from the hotel and offers a wide choice of riding instruction for adults and children. The offering ranges from pony leading for children through guided rideouts in small groups to remedial and jumping training for advanced riders.
